Kiron 28mm f2. vintage hit or miss
Просмотров 922 месяца назад
Pretty cheap lens, OK it's not up there with the CZ "Hollywood" but for the same specs, it costs 1/10yh and gives a loverly warm, vintage, glowing image. I love it. #colorgrading #lighting #videoproduction #film #filmgear #gearreview #gimbal #light
Sutefoto TP25 6 month review and indepth analysis + use case.

Sutefoto reached out to me at the end of 2023 regarding a review video of their TP25 RGB tube lights. I had been in contact with Nanlite, as I have their 30cm Pavo ii tubes, but they were not interested in my offer, so I was stoked when Sutefoto got hold of me. I'll skip straight to it. These lights are fantastic and at their current price of 130USD/Euro. they offer unparalleled versatility and...

Can you plug the USB in during operation for constant power? thanks
@@malthus101 yes
@@FosterMedia cool thanks
The 55mm/f2.8 Macro has a soft glow wide open, stopped down it is tack sharp. +++ It has the biggest and roundest bokeh balls I've ever seen, one ball can fill the frame. Magic.
@@hermannmaier yeah I'm still in search of one.
Great post ,weḷl done ! Could you please propose an alternative that is as strong and portable , but the light can be remotely fully adjusted through android app ?
Agree and love my light. But as a new guy to lighting, I did find it difficult to understand what the cct and different mode abbreviations ment. RGB I got it, CCT I got it. Still trying to find out what the others mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. I'm not lazy, I just can't find it. Probably an age thing to. Lol
@@trailtocamp there are two more modes. Rgbct let's you control each colour diopse independently and fx is 'effects' mode for police red/blue, lightning, broken light bulb etc.
@@FosterMedia 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Thank you so much.🙏🏻🙏🏻 So HSI ? I've actually got on and ordered the directional light box shade that you showed. Can't wait to receive that and try it out. Thought is would be great to use to light up a face with the special effects 'flame', to make it more realistic sat by a small fire. Many thanks. It's like most things in life, you more than often need a little help from those that know how .
@@trailtocamp glad to be of assistance mate. Any time, just ask. Hsi is the 360 gedree colour wheel style Mode, so one dial will do brightness and the other will do saturation and hue. Hsi means Hue, Saturation, Intensity. 👍
@@FosterMedia 🙏🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻 brilliant, got it now. Thank you so much for taking the time to help. 🤝🏻
Thanks 🙂
There is nothing unusual in the fact that ISO 20000 and ISO 2500 showed approximately the same noise level. They are both in the ISO invariance zone. The problem with high ISO is not in noise (in reality, increasing ISO reduces noise rather than increasing it). The problem with high ISO is the reduction of dynamic range.
Nice footage!! love the colors! This is a 28mm full frame on apsc without speedbooster?
@@monociclo correct, no speedbooster. I did just buy one though, the viltrox, used. It should arrive Saturday, I'll do some comparison shots. 😀
face down and let the gravity do its work.
@@MottoMojo yeah but then the camera recording wouldn't see anything. Anyway, don't worry about dust.
@@FosterMedia Good video by the way. keep up the good work bro
Why you blow it facing up???
ikr..
@@AmateurPhotographer12 didn't think to much about it, wanted the camera to see the sensor.
@@FosterMedia yeah that’s fine!
@@AmateurPhotographer12 it's usually how I do it to be fair, I wana see if there is anything on the sensor. I was really conscious of this year's ago wjth my old canon dlsrs, but now I don't worry too much, I always shoot wide open, rarely more than f5.60and even then sensor dust isn't a problem. I only use the rocket blower for lenses usually.
@@FosterMedia ah okay it’s your camera so you can do anything you want with it.
It's a fantastic lens, you take great footages with it ^^ it's part of my vivitar set because it's a copy of the vivitar 28mm f2

Some video tests with this as a only light source would be nice
It's a bit small for a key light
How do you spell Zed? Zeded? Thanks for answering my question about clear image zoom autofocus. You will need to get a Sony camera with AI chip to get autofocus in CIZ. The 2.25x crop is very useful, but the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 is much more useful than the full frame 28-70mm lens and it's cheaper.
Wow, wasn't expecting such a great video. Ty, very informative.
Really nice review! Thank you very much!
Thanks so much, im glad it was useful for you. These mics are still my daily drivers, I absolutely love them, never once had any kinda issue and they are always charged as they live in the chragebox.
Great video and you have a new subscriber.
Wow man, best video test ever. Searching for this
Thankyou.
What adapter are you using
I think this was filmed on my old one, just some cheap generic shit, was lose Af. Now I have a K&F, with the orange ring, and it's really nice. The lens itself was CY but I hard converted to ef by simply gluing a ef adapter on it. 🤓
Hi. Could you tell if it is possible to screw another filter in front of this one, and what mm do i need to?
Yes you can. It's the same thread 67/0.75
@@FosterMedia This applies for the True one? As you said it’s 72mm on the front
@@fabianbertel9424 sorry yes, that was wrong what I typed last time. The true colour defo has a bigger thread, I tried to screw on a mist filter yesterday and it didn't work. I'll confirm all info tonight. Just need to find a few mins time 😀
@@FosterMedia The correct order to stack filters would be First ND and on top a Black Mist? Thank you!
@@fabianbertel9424 why? Genuinely interested. I've always put mist first
cool lens and camera!
✌...
would've liked to see you compare the no ND and put it on the left hand side of the screen while showing the two different NDS on the right... it's easier to tell the differences this way.
I'll see if I can get round to making a separate video like that. Maybe a new subscriber would encourage me 😉
@@FosterMedia I'm eyeing the NISI true color filters as best right now, but Kolari is a close competitor. I have the k2 freewell but they are too big and bulky
✌...
great video, just shopping for variable ND's... I see on amazong why is the front side a larger diameter. as it says "larger front diameter designed to avoid vignetting in wide-angle lenses'. i personally hate it. i don't want to own 300 lens caps to cover ND filters
Appreciate the video but, but it will add noise to your picture using clear view. The bigger pixels collects more light theory is pseudoscience. Light is like paint. If you going to crop in 1.5 times then you are creating an photo with with 50% less paint , thus you see noise through it.
Did you watch the video because it clearly shows there is no loss in quality
Noise will be more. But for outdoor or indoor with spot light. It is not a problem at all. Fx30 with pz lens and image zoom is absolutely fantasy @@FosterMedia
@@chrisliang9394 why more noise? The pixels are the same size. It's just not downsampled form 6k
@@FosterMedia Pixel size has minimal affect. What matters is the total amount of light captured (area of the sensor used to generate the image). Light is made of photons, imaging they are like skittles. Makes no real difference if you collect them in 12 square cups next to each other or 24 Smaller cups as long as they fill the same total square area when its raining skittles. Now you are asked to cover a white canvas with all the blue skittles you collected. If you have less skittles you're going to have to place them further apart to cover the canvas. The gaps you now have are the noise. Do you're test again in low light you're start to see noise. You're see roughly the same amount of noise and background blur using a zoom lens with an aperture 50% smaller if you clear zoom 1.5x so a 200mm F2.8 would behave like a 300 F4
Beautiful video and cute dog.
Thanks for another interesting review. K + F seem to be another excellent rising brand.
Thanks for a very useful video. Neewer do seem to be establishing themselves as a major player.
I‘ve bought and modded multiple FD‘s with the 3D printed mounts and aperture arms from shapeways - no issues at all! I‘ve also modded the 50 /1.4 nFD - without issues- which you state that you’re holding there, when in reality, you’re holding the original FD with the breach lock mount (which these conversions are NOT made for). You‘ve also mentioned that these are solely for the nFD, while you are holding an FD. Clearly user error here
does it have a thread in the front to stack an ND on it?
Yes it's got a thread.
if the filter size say 72mm why did you use 82mm i thought you would have to use 72mm i have a sigma 18mm -35mm in im trying to figure out what size to buy
82 is typically the biggest size one ever needs. People by this and use step-down rings/adapters (very cheap) so they can use the filter on every lens. Depending on your system or gear you may want to buy the filter size for your biggest lens diameter or you can't use it with all your lenses.
Exactly for the reason mentioned by Lighthunter I also have a set at 67mm for everything 67 and smaller. I use 82 for everything between 67 and 82. Hope this helps.
No music under the test part pls!. :D
Yes sorry. Good point. Next time 🙏
Thank you for the review. Does it get hot? I was wanting to lay on top of an acrylic sheet lid to photograph freshwater aquarium fish.
Thanks. So it doesn't get hot, It gets mildly warm, but you can always tough it with fingers. So fine for acrylic.
You're the only one with this info. TY
You're welcome. Glad it helped 👍
Nice!
My FD 50mm & FD 24mm only has one metal bracket arm instead of two. And I’m so lost because everyone’s else’s has two arms. Not a single person that I’ve seen mod there lens has the version I have 🤦🏾♂️
Thank You very much )
Video quality is great, but sound... a lot of reverb... would rather watch something in 720 than hearing this reverb...
Yeah my office is in a loft, nowhere to put furniture, etc to help with reverb. I have since put alot of ugly sound foam on some of the ceiling to combat this. With a flat ceiling it's easy.
@@FosterMedia try making boxes with isolation for facade. Works like a charm...
@@DiceDragondnd I know. I've built them before. I just don't have the room, like I said, it's recorded in a loft/dach/attic
@@FosterMedia sound blankets then...Hardware store is cheaper option, they are called "moving blankets". Or move mic closer to you, with mic arm or something.
@@DiceDragondnd check out the newer videos, they're fare better now. This was 4 years ago or something

s-cinetone or on log ? good shots :)
It was Slog3. I shoot exclusively log, on all my cameras.
There's also a 55mm 2.8f macro lens. It's amazing
I use an RE20 which alone is over 700 grams (737) without a shockmount. With a shock mount it can add up to even more, especially the official one which adds another 319 grams to the setup
Graham! Nice to see this car after all this years! It was the first healey 100 I drove in my life, at the autojumble in Beaulieu. You had to post a brick behind the driver seat, so that I could reach the pedals for a ride in the parking lot. Later on, we had a few drinks with John Chatham and my german friends Thomas and Jochen in a bar nearby. John, I met at the European Healey Meeting in Norway this Summer. I was there with own Healey 100 and a friend with his ex Speedwell Racing Sprite. Cheers Francis (Franz-Josef)
Nice work, may I ask whats the size of the filter diameter for the 18-50 sigma lens?
Thankyou. 55mm, but I step up to 58 as that's a more common size, for older lenses anyway.
First video I've found on RUclips reviewing the True Color Neewer filter, I started with the £30.00 Neewer ND2 - ND32 and after some testing I returned it and decided to invest a bit more money and try the True Color filter last month, your video is just what a needed last month 😅 but even though I've already purchased the filter I still appreciate the effort in your video to test both of them. The standard filter was overly warm in my tests and I find I'm much happier with the results of the true color filter, even though it's not 100% accurate when compared to not using a filter it's very minor and easily corrected in software like DaVinci Resolve.
Ah sorry it was a month late for you, I actually made a small tiktok review about a month ago also. Yeah it's a decent filter, I checked the price as is now 58 euros for the 67mm. Very good filter for the price. I'm not into spending 300 euros in a filter, my clients won't even notice. And as you said the smallest effort in resolve and it's corrected perfectly. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Very nice framing! Well done 👍
Thank you sir, cold facts, love it
